A big part of Victoria West's win came down to the chemistry between Dominick Martinez and his top target Tristan Bernard. Martinez threw for 218 yards and three touchdowns while Bernard picked up 140 receiving yards and two touchdowns. With that strong performance, Bernard is now averaging an impressive 104 receiving yards per game. Jojo Delagarza made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
The victory got McCollum back to even at 2-2. As for Victoria West, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided in the on the ground. McCollum has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 180.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Victoria West struggles in that department as they've been averaging 163. It's looking like Friday's match might have some serious battles in the trenches.
