Game recap: Dublin Scioto High School Football Team tops Westerville South

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Dublin Scioto (Dublin, Ohio) grabbed the lead when they ran for a touchdown with 11:00 remaining in the fifth quarter and held on to beat Westerville South (Westerville, Ohio) 31-24 on Saturday. The score was the final lead change in a back-and-forth contest that featured four lead swaps.

After nabbing the lead on a Timmy Bates touchdown pass to Carter Torrodd, the Wildcats went into halftime with a 14-7 lead. The Irish scored the winning points with a rushing touchdown that came in the fifth quarter.

Despite scoring zero points in the third, Dublin Scioto still trailed by 10 points going into the fourth quarter. But 17 points in the fourth helped DS pull out the victory.

A 42-35 Dublin Scioto victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

In a Ohio Capital - Cardinal game next week Westerville South (3-3) takes on Hilliard Darby, and Dublin Scioto (4-2) will go up against Dublin Jerome also in a Ohio Capital - Cardinal game.
