Baseball Game Preview: William Allen Canaries vs. Pleasant Valley Bears

The William Allen Canaries will challenge the Pleasant Valley Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. William Allen is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

William Allen is headed into the game having just suffered their closest loss since April 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Brandywine Heights Area by a score of 9-7.

William Allen got a good showing from Josh Reyes, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits.

On the hitting side, Emill Roman made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Joel Chacon was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases.

Meanwhile, Pleasant Valley didn't have quite enough to beat Pocono Mountain East on Wednesday and fell 10-9. The Bears have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

William Allen's record is now 0-3. As for Pleasant Valley, their record now sits at 0-2.

William Allen came out on top in a nail-biter against Pleasant Valley in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for William Allen since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
