Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends West Plains' Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Plains can now relate to. They came up short against the St. Pius X Lancers on Saturday, falling 3-0. The Zizzers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Violet Hafer paced West Plains' offense, picking up eight kills. Hafer got some help from Lucy Hafer and her 14 assists. Finally, Ashlyn Tinsley kept West Plains' defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.

St. Pius X can attribute much of their success to Harper Gass, who had ten digs and two aces. Gass has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last three times she's played.

West Plains' loss dropped their record down to 27-7-3. As for St. Pius X, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-5 record this season.

West Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Pius X, they will challenge Webb City on Wednesday.
