The Pleasant Valley Vikings will square off against the McQueen Lancers at 11:00 a.m. on Monday. Pleasant Valley is coming into the game hot, having won their last five games.
Pleasant Valley's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Thursday, when they got past Foothill's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Vikings put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 10-2 win. Considering the Vikings have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alissa Snipes made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Lily Thurman, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Bella Cox was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 4-for-4.
Pleasant Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.6.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but McQueen ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past Bishop Manogue 4-3.
Violet Moyao spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits.
On the hitting side, Vanessa Bein was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Pleasant Valley's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for McQueen, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
McQueen's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Pleasant Valley has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game.
