Soccer Recap: West Carteret Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact West Carteret can now relate to. They came up short against the Union Pines Vikings on Tuesday, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, West Carteret can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Union Pines are ranked 34th).

West Carteret has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12-3 record this season. As for Union Pines, their victory was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3-1.

West Carteret does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Union Pines, they have already played their next game, a 5-0 win against Swansboro on the 15th.
