Genoa Central took a ten-run  defeat the last time they faced off against Fouke, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Dragons had just enough and edged out the Panthers  2-1. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Panthers  back in March, they had to take a  11-1  loss.
 Emily McGuire spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a  run (which was  unearned)  on two hits.
 On the hitting side, Genoa Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brenley Ward, who  went 1-for-2 with one  double and one  RBI.
Genoa Central moved to 18-9 with that  victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Fouke, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record  this season.
 Genoa Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fouke, they will look to defend their home field  on Tuesday against Nashville  at 5:00  p.m. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Panthers 2, the Scrappers 3.7) so any  runs scored will be well earned.
