Jacob Ross posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Tuesday. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Gates County is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 1-7 otherwise.

Ross' effort led Gates County over North East Carolina Prep and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
