Volleyball Game Preview: Higley Knights vs. Red Mountain Mountain Lions

The Higley Knights will face off against the Red Mountain Mountain Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Higley extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Britton Skousen. The Knights blew past Williams Field 3-0 last Thursday thanks in part to Skousen, who had 15 digs and one assist. He has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 15 times he's played.

One reason for the win was Higley's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-20.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Red Mountain walked away with it. Everything went their way against the Aztecs on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 win. Winning may never get old, but the Mountain Lions sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Red Mountain never let Corona del Sol on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-22, 25-20.

Higley's victory bumped their record up to 31-7-2. As for Red Mountain, their win bumped their record up to 18-11.

Higley was able to grind out a solid victory over Red Mountain when the teams last played back in April, winning 2-0. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mountain Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
