Basketball Recap: Providence Academy vs. First Baptist Academy Eagles
Providence Academy entered their tilt with the First Baptist Academy Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Providence Academy took down the Eagles 65-47 on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Providence Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Isaiah Peters-Daniels continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 28 points along with two steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Providence Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Gilmer, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, First Baptist Academy still got an impressive performance from Cooper Roberts, who dropped a double-double on 32 points and ten rebounds. Roberts hasn't dropped below 20 points for 15 straight games.
First Baptist Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Providence Academy racked up 16 assists.
Providence Academy's win bumped their record up to 14-9. As for First Baptist Academy, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-21.
Providence Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Christian Academy of Knoxville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Tuesday. As for First Baptist Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against the at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in Berean Christian's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home while the Eagles have been banged up by 21 consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
