Baseball Game Preview: Seneca Bobcats vs. Easley Green Wave

The Seneca Bobcats will head out to face off against the Easley Green Wave at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seneca will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Saturday, Seneca was able to grind out a solid win over Liberty, taking the game 7-3. That's two games straight that the Bobcats have won by exactly four runs.

Luke McGuffin looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Kade Scruggs was a standout: he scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Scruggs is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was William Cutshall, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Seneca always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .500 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Easley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Pickens on Saturday. Easley blew past Pickens 14-6. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Green Wave's hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Easley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Seneca, their record now sits at 3-0.

Seneca came up short against Easley in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, falling 8-5. Can Seneca avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
