Softball Recap: Liberty Raiders vs. Oak Hill Red Devils
In what's become a running theme this season, Liberty gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They blew past the Oak Hill Red Devils 14-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Liberty also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2023.
Maddie Cox made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Cox has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in three consecutive pitching appearances. Cox was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Katie Mullens was incredible, going 3-for-3 with a home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alyson Griffith was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4.
On Oak Hill's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halee Jones, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a double.
