Northside came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Bentonville Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 56-42. Given the Grizzlies' advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Tigers are ranked 27th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Northside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Erianna Gooden led the charge by putting up 16 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Gooden has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Camryn Schmidt, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Northside is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. As for Bentonville, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be Northside v. Southside when Northside and Southside meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Northside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Bentonville, they will head out to challenge Rogers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
