Recap: Thomasville Tigers vs. American Christian Academy Patriots
The Thomasville Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were beaten by American Christian Academy 88-52. While losing is never fun, Thomasville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while American Christian Academy is ranked 104th).
Eric Hines was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 13 rebounds for American Christian Academy. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Davis Dare, who scored 21 points.
Thomasville's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-12. As for American Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.
Thomasville won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sumter Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. As for American Christian Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Sipsey Valley at 7:00 p.m.
