Basketball Game Preview: Desert Scorpions vs. Kern Valley Broncs

The Desert Scorpions will square off against the Kern Valley Broncs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Desert is headed into the match having just suffered their biggest loss since January 16, 2024 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 78-44 defeat at the hands of California City. The Scorpions were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-19.

Meanwhile, Kern Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 45-41 to Boron.

Desert will have to contain Aiden Madden as he made an impact in Kern Valley's last game. He posted 16 points. That was a full 39% of Kern Valley's points, marking the third time in a row he's scored more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Parks, who earned five points.

Desert's loss dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Kern Valley, they dropped their record down to 6-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
