Volleyball Recap: Addison Hemmer Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Rockford

There's no place like home for Elk River, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Rockford Rockets on Saturday. The Elks were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Rockets, so the Elks were just returning the favor.

Elk River's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Hemmer, who had ten digs and two aces. Makenna Glaser also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Despite the loss, Rockford still got an impressive performance from Anna Feyen, who had 11 digs and two assists.

Elk River's victory bumped their record up to 8-19. As for Rockford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season.

Elk River has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Canby on the 11th. As for Rockford, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Watertown-Mayer on the 14th.
