Softball Recap: Crescent City's Win Ends Nine-Game Losing Streak on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Umatilla, Crescent City was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Pine Ridge Panthers with a sharp 13-4 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Raiders needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Caylee Goff spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Crescent City let Macy Stuckey and April Morales run wild. Stuckey fired off two home runs, three runs, and one triple while going 4-for-5, while Morales scored three runs and stole Five bases. while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Morales a new career-high in hits (three). Ayrianna Back also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Crescent City was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pine Ridge only posted a batting average of .200.

Crescent City's victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Pine Ridge, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5-1.

Looking ahead, Crescent City will face off against Hawthorne at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crescent City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Pine Ridge, they will challenge Seabreeze at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
