Baseball Game Preview: Oak Park Eagles vs. Royal Highlanders

For the second straight game, Oak Park will face off against Royal. The Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Highlanders at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Oak Park has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Oak Park is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Monday. They lost 18-2 to Royal.

For Royal's part, they gave Dustin Dunwoody the start and clearly made the right call: he struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Dunwoody has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances. Hudson Jarvis relieved him and did a solid job, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Noah Vasquez was a standout: he went a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Peyton Visage was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and one run.

Oak Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Royal, their victory bumped their record up to 22-3-1.
