Basketball Recap: Eight Straight Road Victories for Watersprings

Watersprings waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Sho-Ban Chiefs with a sharp 65-40 win. Given Watersprings' advantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while Sho-Ban is ranked 113th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Watersprings' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Korban Nelson, who went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points along with six boards and six steals. That's the most steals Nelson has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Titus Driver, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 22 rebounds.

Watersprings smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Watersprings pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Sho-Ban, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season.

Watersprings has already played their next contest, a 65-37 win against Leadore on the 18th. As for Sho-Ban, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 59-49 victory against North Gem on the 18th.
