Basketball Recap: Pike Road Takes a Loss

Pike Road lost against Saint James back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pike Road Patriots had to suffer through a 64-27 loss at the hands of the Saint James Trojans. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 85th, while the Trojans are ranked seventh).

Saint James' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Natalie Barton, who went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points. The contest was Barton's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Mcrae, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Pike Road dropped their record down to 13-11 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Saint James, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 24-2.

Pike Road will take on Rehobeth at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Saint James has already played their next game (against Montgomery Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
