Volleyball Game Preview: Timothy Christian Trojans vs. Willowbrook Warriors

The Timothy Christian Trojans will take on the Willowbrook Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Timothy Christian will be strutting in after a win while Willowbrook will be coming in after a loss.

Timothy Christian is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since April 28th on Thursday. They skirted past Chicago Christian 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won six in a row.

Timothy Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-20, 25-23.

Timothy Christian found their leader in sophomore Nate Horne, who had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Horne. Charlie Schommer also deserves some recognition as he had his first dig of the season.

Meanwhile, Willowbrook came up short against Hinsdale Central on Monday and fell 2-0.

Willowbrook was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-18.

Timothy Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-12. As for Willowbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-26.
