Basketball Recap: Adams Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Adams entered their match against Avondale on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Adams Highlanders fell to the Avondale Yellowjackets 52-46. While losing is never fun, the Highlanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 74th).

Avondale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Amaria Daniel out in front who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. Daniel is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Morgan Mcpherson, who posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and three steals.

Adams' defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5. As for Avondale, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-1.

Adams has already played their next contest (against Lapeer), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Avondale will face off against Clarkston at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
