Softball Recap: Neuqua Valley Has No Trouble Against Metea Valley

After only one run in their last game, Neuqua Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Metea Valley on Wednesday. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 10-0 win. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Not much got past Ava Drehs, who gave up just three hits and racked up 18 Ks to keep Metea Valley off the board. Drehs has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 21 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Savannah Charlton was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Nalia Clifford, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Neuqua Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Metea Valley struck out 18 times.

Neuqua Valley's win bumped their record up to 13-14. As for Metea Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.
