Baseball Recap: Century Comes Up Short

Century fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Owatonna on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-5 to the Huskies. The Panthers were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Century saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Esau, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Maddox Milene was another, going 2-for-3 with one triple.

This is the second loss in a row for Century and nudges their season record down to 3-2. As for Owatonna, the victory keeps they at an undefeated 5-0.

While Century had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
