Softball Recap: Princeton Comes Up Short

Princeton and Walnut Hills squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Princeton had to settle for second. They lost 12-6 to the Eagles. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Kennedi LeGree was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Alaya White, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two runs.

Princeton's defeat was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Walnut Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-22 record this season.

Princeton and Walnut Hills could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Vikings (ranked 385th) will meet Taylor (ranked 176th) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Walnut Hills will square off against Centerville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (523 vs. 17).
