Football Recap: Morristown-Beard Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Morristown-Beard can now relate to. They fell just short of the Riverdale Country Falcons by a score of 28-26 on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Crimson have suffered since October 19, 2024.

It was another big night for Ryan Cohen, who rushed for 160 yards and a pair of scores for Riverdale Country. Cohen really tore up the turf during one magnificent 79-yard run. Jake Liston was another key player, picking up 104 receiving yards and one touchdown.

This is the second loss in a row for Morristown-Beard and nudges their season record down to 5-4. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 4-3 The Pingry School (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 71.4% over those games). As for Riverdale Country, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Morristown-Beard does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Riverdale Country, they will square off against The Pingry School at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
