Basketball Game Preview: Hartville Eagles vs. Norwood Pirates

The Hartville Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Norwood Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hartville is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.

Last Wednesday, Hartville was beaten by Forsyth 63-32.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Norwood, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Willow Springs on Monday as Norwood made off with a 62-40 win. The Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 22 points or more this season.

Hartville better keep an eye on Autumn Gunter. She was instrumental in Norwood's win, going 8 of 13 en route to 23 points and seven boards. That's the most points Gunter has posted since back in January of 2024. Addy Gray was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 14 points.

Hartville's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Norwood, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Hartville came out on top in a nail-biter against Norwood when the teams last played back in January of 2024, sneaking past 46-43. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hartville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
