Basketball Recap: Hardee Comes Up Short

Hardee played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 70-36 loss at the hands of the DeSoto County Bulldogs. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

When it comes to explaining why Hardee lost, don't look at Cris Cook. Despite the final result, he posted nine points.

Azir Blanding had a dynamite game for DeSoto County, almost dropping a double-double on 21 points and nine steals. The dominant performance gave Blanding a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Unruh, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards.

This is the second loss in a row for Hardee and nudges their season record down to 3-5. As for DeSoto County, they moved to 7-11 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Hardee didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-36 defeat against Families Instructing Students HomeSchool on the 14th. As for DeSoto County, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 67-18 win against Lake Placid on the 14th.
