Basketball Recap: West Monroe Takes a Loss

West Monroe was the 43-42 winner over Ouachita Parish when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The West Monroe Rebels fell just short of the Ouachita Parish Lions by a score of 47-44 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Rebels have suffered against the Lions since February 14, 2020.

West Monroe has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-11 record this season. As for Ouachita Parish, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Monroe will welcome Minden at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ouachita Parish, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Ouachita Parish Lions duke it out with the Neville Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neville will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Ouachita Parish surely won't give up without a fight.
