Basketball Recap: IMG Academy White Takes a Loss

The IMG Academy White Ascenders came up short against the Braden River Pirates on Tuesday, falling 69-48.

Braden River was led to victory by Lawaiian Long and Jaron Fields. Long went 6 for 11 on his way to 17 points in addition to six assists and three steals, while Fields went 6 of 9 en route to 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Those six assists gave Long a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Anquan Polynice, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 12 points.

IMG Academy White has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Braden River, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.

IMG Academy White has already played their next game (against North Fort Myers), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Braden River won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Braden River is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.2 points per game this season.
