Softball Recap: Northridge Wins Going Away Against Warsaw

Northridge won the last time they faced Warsaw and things went their way on Friday too. The Raiders put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 11-1 win. Considering the Raiders have won 11 matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Addi Knisley was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Northridge got a massive performance out of Willow Staley, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Staley has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Rielyn Goodwin, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Northridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .361 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Northridge pushed their record up to 12-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Warsaw, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northridge will take on Mishawaka at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cavemen will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight. As for Warsaw, they will challenge Concord at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
