Football Game Preview: Knappa Loggers vs. Vernonia Loggers

Knappa is 7-1 against Vernonia since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Knappa will look to defend their home field against Vernonia at 7:00 p.m. Knappa's defense has only allowed 12.9 points per game this season, so Vernonia's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Knappa is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: Clatskanie, who was ranked 25th at the time (Knappa was ranked 16th). The Loggers fell 21-14 to the Tigers on Thursday. The game marked the Loggers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Vernonia scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They had to suffer through a 60-14 loss at the hands of Rainier.

Having lost for the first time this season, Knappa fell to 6-1. As for Vernonia, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

Knappa won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, slipping by Vernonia 36-35. Does Knappa have another victory up their sleeve, or will Vernonia turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
