The Curtis Baptist Crusaders will square off against the Augusta E Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Curtis Baptist will be strutting in after a victory while Augusta E will be coming in after a loss.
Curtis Baptist is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Wardlaw Academy: they outscored them in every quarter. The Crusaders enjoyed a cozy 46-28 win over the Patriots on Tuesday. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Patriots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Curtis Baptist found their leader in freshman Evan Turrell, who shot 58% from the field to rack up 17 points and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Turrell now owns an excellent 45.7% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Burnette, who posted seven points and six rebounds.
Curtis Baptist was working as a unit and finished the game with ten assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Augusta E came up short against Alleluia Community last Tuesday and fell 78-69. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Angels recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Defeat or not, Augusta E got some senior leadership from Jude Brouwer and Ethan Quarles. Brouwer dropped a double-double with 23 points and 12 boards, while Quarles went 8-for-17 en route to 20 points and seven rebounds. Quarles also set a new season-high mark in shooting accuracy with 47%. Jacob Milford was another key player, putting up eight points and six boards.
Augusta E's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Curtis Baptist, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Keep an eye on the arc in Thursday's game: Curtis Baptist has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 36.5% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Augusta E, though, as they've only made 23.2% of their three-pointers this season. Given Curtis Baptist's sizable advantage in that area, the Eagles will need to find a way to close that gap.
Curtis Baptist was able to grind out a solid win over Augusta E in their previous matchup back in January, winning 68-56. Do the Crusaders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
