Softball Recap: Chatham Central Falls Short of Roxboro Community in the Playoffs

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Chatham Central couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They came up short against the Roxboro Community Bulldogs on Tuesday, falling 10-3. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Bears, who until this contest were averaging 3.58 runs allowed.

Chatham Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maeson Smith, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one double.

Chatham Central's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 20-4. As for Roxboro Community, their win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-5.

As of now, neither Chatham Central nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
