Basketball Recap: Saturday's Loss Ends Miller's Winning Streak

After a string of four wins, Miller's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 69-56 to the Edinburg North Cougars. If the Buccaneers were looking for revenge after losing 82-52 to the Cougars when the teams met back in December of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the loss, Miller still got an impressive performance from Charles Perry Jr, who shot 43% from the field to rack up 26 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. Perry Jr is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Timothy Davila was another key player, putting up eight points.

Miller's loss dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Edinburg North, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Miller wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 92-88 defeat against Harlingen on the 13th. As for Edinburg North, they have also already played their next matchup, a 53-43 loss against Weslaco on the 13th.
