Basketball Game Preview: Catoosa Indians vs. Vinita Hornets

Catoosa hasn't had much luck against Vinita recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Catoosa Indians will head out to take on the Vinita Hornets at 6:00 p.m.

Last Monday, Catoosa came up short against Skiatook and fell 46-37. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ta'Nei West put forth a good effort for the losing side as she went 9-for-15 on her way to 19 points and five rebounds. The game was her third in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacquelyn Cornwell, who posted nine points and six boards.

Meanwhile, Vinita waltzed into their matchup on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They walked away with a 37-28 victory over the Bulldogs.

Catoosa's defeat dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Vinita, they pushed their record up to 17-7 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Catoosa lost to Vinita on the road by a decisive 59-40 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Catoosa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
