Softball Recap: Ellet Extends Winning Streak to 11

Ellet waltzed into their match on Thursday with ten straight wins... but they left with 11. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Highland Hornets. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Orangemen also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Keyli Myers was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while getting on base in all five of her plate appearances. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March. Sicillia Albaugh was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Ellet kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 11 consecutive games.

Ellet pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Highland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellet will venture away from home to challenge North Royalton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Highland, they will head out to take on Revere at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Minutemen will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight.
