Volleyball Recap: Wauzeka-Steuben Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Wauzeka-Steuben can now relate to. They came up short against the Highland Cardinals on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Hornets haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

While Wauzeka-Steuben was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Highland's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-17.

BRINLEIGH BOLLANT was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had eight digs and three aces.

Wauzeka-Steuben's defeat dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Highland, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

Wauzeka-Steuben does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Highland, they will take on Wonewoc-Center on Saturday.
