Powers Catholic won the last time they faced Mt. Morris and things went their way on Saturday too. The Chargers had just enough and edged out the Panthers 1-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Chargers.

Powers Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Mt. Morris, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Powers Catholic will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Freeland at 5:00 p.m. on September 3. As for Mt. Morris, they will be taking part in a tournament against Yale at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
