Merritt Island Christian extended their road winning streak to seven games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Caleb Richeson. The Cougars blew past the Ocala Christian Crusaders 44-8 on Friday for which the team can thank Richeson, who rushed for 135 yards and two touchdowns. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 75 yards.

Connor Angstadt was another key player, picking up 110 receiving yards and one TD. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Merritt Island Christian's defense made their presence known, laying out Antonio Shuman. three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Daiden Gilmore and Israel Grimstead, who each picked up 1.5 sacks apiece. Merritt Island Christian got some further help from Gilmore: he picked up 1.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made 25 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Merritt Island Christian's record now sits at 2-0. As for Ocala Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
