Softball Recap: Litchfield Falls Short of Hillsboro in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Litchfield can now relate to. They fell 10-6 to the Hillsboro Hiltoppers on Monday. The loss continues a trend for the Purple Panthers in their meetings with the Hiltoppers: they've now lost three in a row.

Charlie Bono was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Elise Walch, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Litchfield's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Hillsboro, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14.

Litchfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hillsboro, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 victory against Greenville on the 20th.
