Volleyball Recap: Newton County Wins Going Away Against Lafayette

Newton County saw some tournament action on Saturday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Lafayette Commodores. That two set margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Newton County found their leader in freshman Emma Alford, who had eight digs and two assists.

Newton County now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Lafayette, with the loss, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 1-2.

Newton County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Neshoba Central on the 5th. Lafayette has also already played their next contest (against Lewisburg), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
