Baseball Game Preview: Priest River Spartans vs. Riverside Rams

The Priest River Spartans will head out to challenge the Riverside Rams at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Priest River has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Priest River managed to slip by St. Maries the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Spartans lost 14-6 to the Lumberjacks on Thursday.

Broden Collins was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Riverside came up short against Northport on Tuesday and fell 10-6. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riverside saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Lee, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. That run was Lee's first of the season.

Priest River now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Riverside, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Priest River couldn't quite get it done against Riverside in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
