Basketball Recap: Stanton Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Stanton won the last time they faced Wisner-Pilger, and Olivia Hupp did her part to make sure it happened again. The Stanton Mustangs secured a 48-42 W over the Wisner-Pilger Gators on Monday thanks in part to Hupp, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 boards. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Kelby Pohlman was another key player, putting up three points and seven rebounds. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played.

Stanton has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 13-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points per game. As for Wisner-Pilger, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Stanton will welcome Winside at 4:30 p.m. on February 11th. As for Wisner-Pilger, they will be playing at home against Lyons-Decatur Northeast at 6:00 p.m. on February 11th.
