Baseball Recap: York Suburban Comes Up Short

York Suburban had lost four straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 3-14 to make it five. They came up short against the Susquehanna Township HANNA, falling 15-3. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the HANNA apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2019.

As for Susquehanna Township, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-7. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by eight runs or more this season.

For Susquehanna Township's part, Jacole Pate was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Pate was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. Susquehanna Township is undefeated when Pate posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

In other batting news, Ayden Fallows was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Susquehanna Township: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brayden Hertz, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Coming up, York Suburban will head out to take on William Penn at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Susquehanna Township, they will welcome Harrisburg at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
