Basketball Game Preview: Cascade Cougars vs. Maquoketa Cardinals

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cascade Cougars face off against the Maquoketa Cardinals at 6:00 p.m. on Friday... Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Cascade comes in on five and Maquoketa on eight.

Last Friday, everything came up roses for Cascade against Camanche as the squad secured a 57-22 win. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Maquoketa was able to grind out a solid victory over Central DeWitt last Saturday, taking the game 65-57.

Maquoketa's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Cascade, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.

Cascade came up short against Maquoketa in their previous matchup back in January, falling 41-30. Can Cascade avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
