Softball Recap: Coronado Comes Up Short

Coronado came into this matchup off a tough six-run defeat on Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Jim Ned Indians by a score of 8-6 on Friday. The Mustangs just can't catch a break and have now endured four losses in a row.

Alli Garcia was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Garcia was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Garcia wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Abbie Madrid, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Jim Ned, their record now sits at 5-1.

Looking ahead, Coronado will face off against Boerne-Champion at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Jim Ned, they will square off against Bushland at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
