Baseball Recap: La Crosse Central Takes a Loss

La Crosse Central couldn't beat Eau Claire Memorial on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the fourth inning. The Riverhawks fell just short of the Old Abes by a score of 6-5. The Riverhawks haven't had much luck with the Old Abes recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

La Crosse Central saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Derrick Pangier, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Jake Larson also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

La Crosse Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Eau Claire Memorial, their win ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6.

Coming up, La Crosse Central will square off against Aquinas at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Eau Claire Memorial, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Eau Claire North at 6:30 p.m. on the 13th.
