Soccer Recap: Salinas Comes Up Short

Salinas's game on Monday was all tied up 1-1 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell just short of the Watsonville Wildcatz by a score of 2-1. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcatz apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Salinas' goal came courtesy of Emilio Padilla, who's now up to five this season.

Salinas dropped their record down to 5-3-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Watsonville, they now have a winning record of 3-2-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salinas will head out to square off against Stevenson at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Salinas' last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Watsonville, they will head out on the road to take on Rancho San Juan at 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
