Wahkiakum has gone a perfect 3-0 against Ilwaco recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mules will challenge the Fishermen at 3:00 p.m. Wahkiakum is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

Wahkiakum came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-2 to Rainier. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Mules have suffered since March 25th.

Cooper Carlson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Parker Leitz was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Ilwaco had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Comets as they made off with a 16-6 victory. That's two games straight that the Fishermen have won by exactly ten runs.

Ilwaco pushed their record up to 13-2 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.1 runs over those games. As for Wahkiakum, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

Everything went Wahkiakum's way against Ilwaco in their previous meeting back in April of 2021, as Wahkiakum made off with a 22-5 win. Will the Mules repeat their success, or do the Fishermen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
